Life is all about balance. Our body is an amazing system that works in coordination of multiple organs and if any organ fails to perform its function as intended then things go hayway and the balance is disturbed thus leading to balance disorders.
Balance disorders mainly occur due to disruption in any of the neurological systems and may indicate a wide range of abnormalities like inner ear disorders, low blood pressure, brain tumors, and brain injury including stroke. Problems in the skeletal or visual systems, such as arthritis or eye muscle imbalance, may also cause balance problems.
Some of the major issues related to balance disorder are:
A sensation of being off balance and frequently falls in a specific direction.
A feeling of light-headedness or faintness usually caused by circulatory system deficiency, such as low blood pressure.
Vertigo is the most common and rampant balance disorder which may trigger nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headaches, double vision or a racing heartbeat. Vertigo may be caused by a number of problems associated with the inner ear, brain, or sensory nerve pathway.
There are different types of vertigo, depending on the cause.
